Plesk Says "Wrong Password" or My Plesk Username Does Not Work Print

  • 0

If Plesk says your password is wrong, the most common cause is that you are using the wrong username, not the wrong password. You can fix this yourself in about two minutes, and you may not need a password at all.

Quickest way in: no password needed

  1. In the Client Area, go to Services > My Services and click your hosting service.
  2. In the left sidebar, under Actions, click Log in to Plesk. On a phone, the sidebar appears above the page content.
  3. Plesk opens in a new tab. If nothing seems to happen, allow pop-ups for this site and click it again.

If you have more than one hosting service and this does not work from one of them, try it from the other. If you still cannot get in, or you need a username and password for an app or developer, use the steps below.

Why your username may have changed

Each customer has one Plesk login per server, even with several websites. If you have more than one hosting service, or your website moved to our Windows Server 2022 platform, your websites may all be under one Plesk username. The username you used before, or the one in an older welcome email, may no longer exist as a Plesk login. It can still be your FTP username, which is separate.

Set a new password

  1. Open the Plesk login page: https://awh-plesk1-win2022.adaptivewebhosting.com:8443. You can also get there from the Client Area top menu: Plesk CP Logins > Windows 2022.
  2. Click Forgot your password?
  3. Enter the email address on your account or your Plesk username, then click Send.
  4. Open the email from Plesk and follow the link to choose a new password. If it has not arrived after a few minutes, check your spam folder.
  5. Log in with your Plesk username and the new password.

If you do not know your username

Open a support ticket with "Plesk login" in the subject. Our AI support assistant looks up your current username straight away and replies with it.

Give a developer access

You do not need to share your login. After logging in, go to Users in Plesk and create a separate user account for your developer. Your developer sets their own password and you can remove the account when the work is finished.

Why we do not send passwords

Ticket replies are sent by email, so we never put passwords in tickets. The reset link above is the fastest and safest way to get back in.
