FTP Connection Troubleshooting Print

If you cannot connect via FTP:

Check Connection Settings:

  • Host: ftp.yourdomain.com or your server IP
  • Port: 21 (FTP) or 990 (FTPS)
  • Username: Your FTP username from Plesk
  • Password: Your FTP password

Common Issues:

1. Passive Mode Required:

  • Enable Passive (PASV) mode in your FTP client
  • FileZilla: Edit > Settings > Connection > FTP > Passive mode

2. Firewall Blocking:

  • Allow your FTP client through firewall
  • Try port 990 for implicit FTPS

3. Wrong Credentials:

  • Reset FTP password in Plesk
  • Ensure you are using FTP username, not email

4. Connection Timeout:

  • Try explicit TLS over port 21
  • Increase timeout in FTP client settings
