ASP.NET Hosting Plans: Current Names, Legacy Plan Names & What's Included Print

  • 0

We've updated our ASP.NET hosting plan names

We have refreshed the names of our ASP.NET hosting plans. If your account still shows an older plan name (for example ASP.NET Starter), nothing about your service has changed — it is the same plan, with the same resources and the same price. We are progressively transitioning every account to the new plan names, so your account label will be updated to the current name over time. No action is required on your part, and your features and billing are unaffected.

Current ASP.NET plans

ASP.NET Developer$9.49/mo2530 GB50 GB1 GB
ASP.NET Business$17.49/mo51050 GB100 GB2 GB
ASP.NET Professional$27.49/mo1025200 GB250 GB4 GB (priority scheduling)

All plans run on Windows with dedicated application pools, MS SQL 2022 and MySQL/MariaDB databases, and support for the latest .NET (formerly ASP.NET Core) along with classic ASP.NET 4.x.

Legacy plan names — what they're called now

If your account shows one of the older names below, here is its current equivalent:

Legacy plan nameCurrent nameNotes
ASP.NET StarterASP.NET DeveloperIdentical plan — same resources, same price.
ASP.NET EconomyASP.NET BusinessEquivalent tier (Business includes 10 subdomains).
ASP.NET Core Starter v2 / Economy v2 / Deluxe v2Map to their namesake (Developer / Business / between Business & Professional)Same plan family under the refreshed names.
ASP.NET Deluxe / ASP.NET UltimateLegacy — no exact current equivalentYou keep all of your current features. For upgrade or pricing options, contact our Billing team and we'll help you find the best current plan.

What this means for you

  • Your features don't change. A renamed plan keeps the same websites, subdomains, storage, bandwidth and RAM allowances.
  • Your price doesn't change because of the rename.
  • Your account label will be updated to the current name as we complete the transition.

Email on your plan

Email is provided through SmarterMail, accessed at https://adaptivewebmail.com, and it handles multiple domains — so mailboxes on a second domain (for example info@your-second-domain) are reached at the same webmail login.

Email is added per domain: in your Client Area, go to Services > your hosting plan > Addons and add the SmarterMail Email add-on at $1.99/mo per domain. Once it's active, create the mailbox in SmarterMail. Each domain that needs mailboxes requires its own add-on, and larger mailbox-count or storage upgrades are available as separate add-ons.

Free SSL (HTTPS)

Every plan includes free SSL certificates via Let's Encrypt. SSL is installed per domain in Plesk and is not applied automatically when you add a new domain. To secure a domain: in Plesk go to Websites & Domains > (the domain) > SSL/TLS Certificates > "SSL It!", issue the free Let's Encrypt certificate, and optionally enable "Keep this website secured" / redirect to HTTPS. Once installed, it renews automatically. Repeat this once for each domain you add.

Adding a second domain / website

If your plan's website allowance has room (for example, the Developer plan allows 2 websites/domains), you can add another domain in Plesk under Websites & Domains > Add Domain. Then install a free SSL certificate for the new domain (above), and — if you want mailboxes on it — add the SmarterMail Email add-on for that domain from your Client Area (Services > Addons).

Still have questions about your plan? Open a ticket from your Client Area and our team will be glad to confirm the details specific to your account.
